36, 38, or 42 lb Lucas injectors for new 383?

Well I had Bosch injectors on the last engine so I figured I'd try out some Lucas ones this time. Anyways the 383 dynoed with a carb at 532hp/482lb ft at the crank....now it's Minirammed with a new Walbro 255 fuel pump. PROM tuning will all be done by myself....gonna hafta learn alot!! She's a nice day, weekend car that'll be taken to the track occasionally. The guy at Racetronix says to go with 42lbs running them at 80%....I did the calcs too and it seems like that's the case....although it seems alot of people with 383's (with 400-450hp) are running only 30lb injectors.....
PLZ help....Seems all the formulas point to either 38 or 42 lb. ones....

I am usin 42 with my 383 and a HSR. This goes thru the A4 making 410 HP at the wheels.

www.fasterproms.com will do the first burn for $350. After that, it is $150 for each burn. They can lend you their software to hook up a laptop to the car and make the road your dyno.

I used 30's and mine ran great with a SR setup but i would go with what racetronix says he's pretty knowledgable on fuel setups.

I'm using 30 # SVOs, that when mated with GM fuel pressure levels are closer to a 32 # injector. I trap in the 1/4 at 115 to 116. each run @ 1500 feet elevation, 3600 # car. The math says I'm making over 415 RWhp.

While a freind was working on it with his equipment he said at 6400 rpm (shift point ) they were just over 80 % DS.

My motor is a 10.5 :1 compression motor. (5.7 rod)

But there is something extremly cool about getting decent gas mileage being able to drive it on the street legally for us emissions people and still run 11's and 12's in the quarter.

Where do you get that pocket programmer? I have tunercat, but have to erase and flash and solder with my set-up, so it doesnt get done like it should.

Carbs are finicky, crap my old pick-up with a holley has to be retuned everytime the weather takes a major change.
