350 swap questions!
350 swap questions!
Ok so I got my 90 Iroc Z with the 305tpi auto, so what do I need when I swap to a 350tpi.
I know I can use the same intake, so I need a new ecm and injectors, what else em I missing?
Oh, and if I swap to a t56 or T5 do I need to modify the computer since I'm going from auto to stick?
Sorry for the questions but I got some money to waste and I need to beat this my friends mustang!!!!! 93gt 5spd

Knock sensor is important in a 305-350 swap. The 305 sensor is likely to pick up false knock in a 350 block because of the different harmonic frequencies created by the different bore and balancing. This will retard your timing substantially and cost you power.
AFAIK there aren't any computer changes required to run a stick, but if you go T-56 you'll have to get a speedo calibrator from Dakota Digital.

Im pretty sure they use the same ECM, but probobly a diferent prom chip. The 350s do use bigger injectors. Other than that I dont think you would need anything else.
And I wouldnt think you would need to adjust the computer for a manual. Just unplug it from your auto and do the swap. It shouldnt make adifference because you wouldnt be controlling when the car shifts not the ecm.
