305 TPI to ...?
305 TPI to ...?
I have an 87 IROC Z with a 305 TPI with a 5 speed manual. and i'm debating the idea of putting a new motor in it. I've heard A LOT of people putting 383 strokers in their Camaros. obviously with the carb it's much easier to work on but what would be the other pros and cons as opposed to a carbed 350 like what I'm used to working on? Thanks in advance I appreciate all the advice i've gotten on this site.

- More power
- Cheaper HP
-cleaner engine bay
Con's
-Gas milage sucks
-retail value goes down
-your current 5 speed will break
- prob. wont pass emissions if you have them
Ive done the swap from 305TPI to 350 TPI then to 350 carb'd and if I was to do it all over again I wouldve spent the money and stayed FI. Wouldve got something like a stealth ram and gone that route.
