Question 305 needs more power

I've had my car for over a year and the only thing I have done is put a K&N air filter in it and a Flowmaster and cut off the cat. I need to know what I need to do next to get the most available power out of the 305. I was wanting either the dual snorkel intake...(if anybody has one for sale) or an open element. Also...I was thinking about dumping the exhaust out. (what are the pro's and con's of doing that?) Anything else you guys think that will help me get the power i need to have out of the motor without getting nitrous.

Also...How can i switch the rear-end to where it's positive traction without swapping rear-ends????

Follow the mods in my sig.

This is the best order:

1-headers and exhaust

2-heads and intake

3-cam and lifters

Dual snorkle is worth a quarter second in the 1320.

Go to www.thirdgen.org and find their tech articles. Lots of good advice. Also their TBI forum.

Good luck, and let me know if you need some pointers.

actually switchign rears is teh easiest adn most cost effective way to get posi and better gearing at teh same time. all you need to do is hit your local salvage yard and look for a 90 and up V6 powered f-body. almost all of them came with either 3.23 or 3.42 gears. look around the car(console box on camaros and hatch box on firebirds) to find the RPO codes. there will eb either GU5, 3.23 ratio gears, or GU6, 3.42 ratio gears. teh rear will prolly cost you under $100 complete.
once you have the rear home you want to call up SLP and order one of their take out posi units. they are factory 4th gen f-body posi's that SLP swaps otu for heavier duty units when they build SS's, Ram Air's, and Firehawk's. they sell them for $99 + shipping. all you have to do is take the carrier out of the salvage yard rear, take teh ring gear off teh carrier, and put the ring gear onto teh posi unit you got from SLP. you need no special tools or anythign since you are not moving the pinion gear. jsut make sure you keep the shims on the same sides as you took them out and everything will fall right back together perfectly.
it si a really simple process and shoudl only take a few hours to complete. while you have the rear out of the car it is a good idea to install a fresh pinion seal and rebuild teh brakes, that way everything is going in there prettty much fresh.
i shoudl be done the tech article that goes into more detail very soon.
