Okay, Hadn't thought of that. I probably should have. The best I got was 21 MPG, though once I may have gotten 24 MPG on a trip to Kentucky and back. However I had a 305 H.O. with 3.73s.

I concede on benefit of the doubt, Matt!

Re: 305 intake swap?

muffler and tailpipes would work, but not the intermediate pipe.

Dynomax/Walker sells a 3" mandrel bent intermediate pipe that would fit the muffler off your car. It costs about $75 from a parts store. Just order the Walker replacement for like a 88 350 TPI Camaro with a single cat.

Is it really going to turn into another one of those threads? I can find numerous buildups if you want me to post them...

That's not necessary on my account, I'm not ever going to try to make a 305 do anything aside from perhaps holding a door open, or anchoring a boat.

5spds RARELY got the 2.73's, RARELY got the 3.08's, but 3.23's and 3.42's were pretty common. You could even get 3.73's w/ the 5spds. Towards the end few yeard of the Third Gen, 3.08's were more prevelant while still offering 3.27's and 3.23's
