305 to 383 swap

Question 305 to 383 swap

what should i have to do to my computer after pulling a 305 and putting a 383 in it. and is there anything else i should do to the intake system??? please help

I take it your TPI??

If not just correct me but I'll assult this problem as if you were.

If you are and you plan keeping it similar, your comp should be fine. Just get a new PROM chip burned for it to accelerate fuel curves and what not.

ALso with the intake you can keep the TPI harness and whatnot but I would suggest switching to a Holley Stealth Ram. It will help ou get alot more power out of that 383. TPI would starve it, especially up top. And its fairly cost effective.

Like I said, if your not TPI just say so and I will change my input. You didnt really give me enough info to go on.

yea, i have the tpi setup. i had thought about using the stealth ram, can u still use stock computer or do u have to run the hooley computer and wiring harness??

I think you can still run the stock computer just with an upgraded prom, same for the harness I belienve. I do know that you have to buy Holleys fuel rails though. You cant use stock ones.

I read that somewhere too, but in the Summit Catalog heres what it says:
"All factory fuel injection components simply bolt on. Requires the use of a small cap distributor (remote mount coil)."

With that said, I don't know
