Post 305 to 350 swap!!! What do I need to change/adjust???

hey again, well, I am going to be building a 350 for my Z and I want to know what I will have to replace to get the 350 to work in my 305 car?!?!? I will be keeping it carbureted.
Will I need a new PCM or can I have the stock one adjusted? Will I need to adjust the carb or will it do for a 350? These are some of the questions I have. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

dude.....ditch the ecm and the rest of that computer controlled crap and get yourself a good carb....you will love your car more by doing so

things that you can do....

new motor mounts
have your radiator pressure tested
new water pump....305 one will work ok
new vaccuum hoses, rubber fuel line and other hoses that could have dry rotted

replace the starter

simple crap like that will reduce problems down the road.....i am putting a motor in my car soon...so i pretty much been brain storming stuff like this

GM has an emissions legal 305 to 350 swap. I would look for it and see what all they change. If I recall, the main things to change for driveability were new metering rods in the Qjet and a new prom. At the very least the parts list would be usefull.

I'm with LL6 on keeping the ECM, especially since you live in California where there is emissions testing. I'd use a camshaft similar to the ZZ4 cam in profile - that way you could use the PROM, and carburetor parts to have an emissions legal 350 swap. It's a proven package - the few cars that GM's Raceshop have assembled with the ZZ4 conversion have dipped into the 13's on radials & maintained emissions legality.

I agree 100%. I had no plans of removing the ECM, thats why I wanted to know where I can get a 350 ECM for use with a carbed motor. Because I don't think GM ever produced a carbed 350 production 3rd gen. I have also thought about the 350 H.O. conversion, I already have the dual snorkel and all that jazz, I just wanna know what I have to do to make the 350 work in my car and not throw any codes and what not. I am going to be doing the suspension work first( SFC's, SB, maybe some LCA's, I dunno), but then I will drop the motor in once I know that all that new torque isn't gonna twist my frame. I have T-tops, so I definitely dont wanna have a twisted car !

Thanks guys!
