305 to 350

I am going to have a 350 dropped into my 84 RS and the best deal I have found at the machine shops around town is $1400 for a fairly well built one. Is this a good deal?

Give us the build spec and we will be able to tell you. We need to know what parts were used. If it has forged internals and is balanced and blueprinted, hell yes.

Those all look like mostly stock pieces. For about the same price, you could get a crate engine with a warranty. You can get a 260 hp standard replacement crate engine for ~$1500. Or you can upgrade to the H.O. engine with 330hp for ~$2300. Just add an intake, carb, distributor and your accessories and you are ready to go.
