My buddy has an 86 iroc and he blew his original 305 and he is wanting to buy a 305 TPI. What all has to be done to get this to work as far as wiring and such? The PCM with the TPI motor is tuned for the a4 and he has a m5 in his car so that has to be reprogramed as well. Any good write-ups on this that anyone knows about?

 

the obvious is to check thirdgen.org. it should be fairly straight forward swap. depending on the options for the car most of the bugs should be ecm related. i'm sure there's more to it though as the harness will most likely be different. newer lsx motors are getting so cheap these days that unless you find a deal on a good running 350 it's almost a waste of time.
