I just got some for a 90 Cmaro from a J/Y for about $70 for the pair

there is a place that has aftermarket ones for a low price($250-300?) that I don't remember the URL for

are the 28's a direct swap in? or do you need to get the whole new housing?

i have an 83 so obviously i have 26 spline as of now, but i would also like to get posi for the cheapest way, i thought about doing a 4th gen rear but dont know if the extra 2 inches would look good or not.

so bassically can i get the axles and the posi unit and stuff em in my current rear end or do i need to mod something?

thanx

The 28s are a direct drop in. I got my set from Hawk's Thirdgen. Can't remember how much it was though.

I *think* Moser's Street/Strip axles are ~$280 or so.

Aftermarket axles are much better than factory ones.

www.tomsdifferentials.com

Part # KAC7-A7

They're listed for 90-92 third gens but will fit in 82-92 as long as a 28 spline carrier is used.

I wouldn't trust the JY ones as you have no idea if there is any problem with them at all till you install and run it. If it breaks and the wheel comes off (hence some races insist on C clip eliminators) it could be a bad thing.
