2 Questions about exhaust

Heres the deal: I plan on buying a new exhaust system and headers for my car. I am going to go with Hooker. The headers have options for ones with an o2 sensor and with or without AIR. What do I need? (Car is in sig, I do have a smog pump)

Does anyone have a sound file of a hooker catback on a 305?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Well if you have A/C then you need the o2 Sensor with A/C if not then you dont.

(I think thats the way it goes lol)

do you have oxygen sensor(s) if you do then you need the headers that are compatible with them.
A/C has NOTHING to do with oxygen sensors
i have removed the smog pump in my car with no problems

I do not know if I have oxygen sensors. How would I find out or check?

I plan on just gutting the smog pump because I've heard you need to plug some holes and all that if you take it off.

Seeing where you live I am taking a stab and saying that you do not need your smog stuff. I would get the headers without AIR and with the O2 sensor. The O2 Sensor is on the drivers side of the car in the exhaust manifold. It will probably be silver with a single wire coming out of it. Pull the smog stuff out just before you put in you headers that way you will not waste time and money pluging the smog holes. At least that is what I would do. You are not going to be gaining enought to warrent the work.

Just get the one with the O2 bung. If you don't have an O2 sensor (My 84 Camaro had one, I think) you could plug it up. If you do, you already have the bung. Simple solution. If you fitted it to another car with an O2 sensor, it will also be ready.

If you don't have to sweat emission, definitely strip the AIR system. It costs you a couple horse and clutters things up...it'll be much easier to change plugs with it out of the way. Smog pump delete was the first mod I ever did.

CFI I believe does utilize an O2 sensor. And even if it doesn't you might feel the need for an air/fuel ratio gauge someday.
