2 questions.........

I live in upstate ny and i was wondering where you can do dynos. Also how much different does the camaro sound if u put exhaust on it. Does it sound like the 383 at all cuz i like the sound and power of that engine alot and probably the camaro i'll get will have a 305. Seems like alot of money for a 383 and i only have about 1,200 dollars. Im 16 btw..

i think you have the wrong impression of what makes a cars sound. it has very little to actually do with the cubic inches in the car and more to do with everything else realted to the engine that the car has. the compression of the engine, the type of cam and possibly induction style, as well as whether the car has headers, size of exhaust pipe, muffler, and whether its full length exhaust or dumps under the car. so if theres a specific sound you are going for you need to find out more details about that specific car/setup and use them same things to your smaller cubic inch engine.

Where are you upstate? I think rskrause is upstate as well and he may be able to point you towards a dyno facility.

im about an hour and a half from you in ny. im pretty close to oneonta. i know they do dyno runs in whitney point at the cruisa palooza which usually happens in may or june. theres a couple of us from another message board that usually go to that every year. your also closer to albany so you probably have some speed shop around there that has a dyno. id start calling around to some shops and start checking there they might give you a shops name with a dyno.
