I was in the same position. 2.8L to 350 swap, and I almost did it. Then I realized I'd be better off buying another car. Labor and parts can run around $2000 I was told by my mechanic. New tranny, ECU, engine, and 12-18 hours labor I think someone on this board mentioned. Do a search, this topic comes up alot.

do a search. It's been addressed a hundred times. It's a MAJOR project unless you have a V8 thirdgen parts car right next to you.

If you have an engine that your ready to swap in, consider it. But if your going to go out and buy an engine for it, I think from experience your better off buying a 305 car and swapping the 350 in. Just look for a 305 w/ a spun berring or something of that nature so the guy wants to get rid of the car. Just make sure the shell is good w/ no rust and everything.
