I am extremely lacking in automotive knowledge but am trying to learn. So I apologize for my poor description.

My 1991 z28 camaro has been having a hard time starting. Most of the time I have to give it gas to get it going. When I turn the key it acts like it will start but won't. And on rare occasions it makes a grinding noise that sounds like it is coming from below. My fuel pump seem to be fine. I can hear it engaging when I turn the battery on. Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
