1989 Camaro Project

Ok guys here is the layout of what i want to do with 1989 Camaro that I haven't gotten yet but I'm sure I will.
Engine: engine would be a 502 Ram Jet, or 383 create with TT setup
Interior: dash board would be replaced with carbon fiber and a vinyl covered dash board. Racing seats ( most likely leather sparco ) with a support of a 5 point belt system.
Exhaust: exhaust would come out of both sides right after the front wheels and it would be right trough the body but will not be extending longer than body. Hopefully some fires will come out.
Tires & Suspension: 18 inch 300 tires in the back and 18 inch 275 in fronts. Eibach suspension kit, car of cause is lowered. Stabilizer kits etp
Under body: carbon fiber plating underneath the car to increase air flow and suck the car to the ground. Back end would have a carbon fiber starting from bumper to the ground effect like you would see on C5R or GTS R or competition coupe.
Back lights: back lights would be replaced with smoked see trough ( DO NOT MISTAKE WITH RICE ALTEZA LIGHTS) and individual light would be replaced with a mirror appropriate color reflector
Rest: Carbon fiber with pins hood, carbon fiber front panels, carbon fiber front end.

My main questions are. Which turbo systems would be compatible with 383. What is the method to do carbon fiber plating under the car to reduce air resistance and increase ground downforce.
What am I looking at $$$ wise ?

if you ask me it sounds like a lot of talk. First of all i really dont see the need for a twin turbo 383 because my friends dad has a V6 single turbo in a C4 corvette that runs 9.7's in the 1/4 and the car is 100% street legal. Also you dont seem to have any insight into this so if youre getting it all fabbed up by a custom shop you must be absolutly loaded because youre not talking about a cheap project.

Body work would be pennies compared to haveing someone fab up an entire, custom 90* V8 turbo system.

No it doesnt really sound that crazy. Im researching a TT small block project now. I just dont think you know what your getting into at this point

As far as naming a number, having someone fab, and construct everyting for you? I cant count that high.

yeah as soon as you started with all that carbon fiber stuff i just started to shake my head.
okay heres a start
8000 on engine
1000-2000 on the ignition system
to hold that kind of power lets say 2500 for a rear end
another 2500-3000 at least for tranny
another 2000 in fuel pumps and radiators and such
2500 in suspension stuff
sounds like around 2000-4000 in tires and rims
your interior with a cage would probably be another 2-3 grand
turbos are probably around 5 grand

plus from the sounds of it youre not going to be installing most of this so theres probably 10 grand in labour

and you want to get into a ton of custom carbon fiber body panels thats an easy 10-15 grand

so without the carbon fiber thats about 30 grand if you do it your self, 40 with labour, and the general rule is double the price of what your plans include and thats about what youll finish at. Id say you could put it together for 55-60 grand

EDIT oh yeah add on another 5 grand for the install of the turbo

Projects like that take TIME/MONEY/TOOLS/SKILL. The more you're lacking in any of those areas, basically the more expensive the project will get.

Carbob fiber body work with underbelly work, etc, etc? Maybe some windtunnel R&D to go with it? If you don't know how much ROUGHLY that would cost, how would you even go about starting anywhere? Would it be worthwhile for a streetcar? How about the first time you come across a speedbump? Draw a speedbump in that image of the car. I'd like to see something like that too myself but not many people like these cars that much. Goodluck.

If you actually have 30 grand to spend on stuff

6 grand on a low compression motor
4-5 grand on a supercharger
full race suspension (yeah that means you get to drop it a bit) id say top of the line is around 4 grand
2500 for a brand new tranny
and 2500 for a moser 12 bolt rear end
And you have money left over if you do that your self you could probably get all of that installed for 30 grand.

Youd have one hell of a car you would be able to run with vipers and such as long as the course wasnt to tight.
