pulled the timing cover off and found that the marks on the gears didnt line up like the chiltons book said they should. about 1 or 1 1/2 teeth from lining up.. all teeth are n the gears chain seams a little loose. could the chain have stretched?, could this be my problem?, anything else i should look for while i am this deep? do i just turn the crank or cam alittle when i replace the chain and gears? how do i line them up? did anything else mess up by the gears not lining up or chain slipping or whatever caused this? any help.
