Yeah, i realize dealers push the 350 models off as CORVETTE ENGINES - just as this dealer tried. But i had corrected him, i told him it is an iron headed 64cc chambered, L98 tuned port injected, iron block v8 - the corvette came with the different manifold as well as what 56-60cc heads that were also aluminum? They will also try to push a 305TPI as a 350 more often than not. Anyway i just wondered if it was common for these cars to be that fast, maybe its chipped the dash has been toyed with but it didnt want to pull the ECM out. My 1988 formula 350 had a BW 9 Bolt and i had a hard time getting it past about 130 with the stock ECM.

 

the only cars that are speed lmited are the 305 TBI equipped cars. they are limited to 115.

 

My sisters 626 would do 130 + if I pushed it that high....would never do that in that car....a 350 tpi powered car shouldnt have an issue with 140 as long as there arent any limiters. But if you havent changed the speedo gear or reprogrammed the pcm for the 3.73 then your speedo would be WAY off.

 

Aluminum L98 vette heads have 58cc combustion chambers....

All of the aluminum L98s had the "old style" (pre-87) bolt pattern, even though they were a centerbolt style head.

I think a stick vert is a bit more, I think 125mph
and 305 stick is 125mph, at least on MAF cars

 

only 3rd gen cars with non-Z-RATED Tires came with speed limiters.

 

I actually don't even drive a Z, but your damn right the 85mph speedo is the only way to go. WOOT!

 

Alright thanks guys, i had a friend use cruise control at 65mph to see about where mine would lay....dead at 75mph, meaning that the stock gears were a posi set of 3.23 now replaced by the 3.73 which are giving false speed readings that are im sure progressivly higher at high speed, but a 5k rpm tach, and blurring landscape pretty well verifies a satisfyingly high speed. Don't worry It's not something you will hear on the news of some insane crash, I love speed I'll own it up and i never speed with somone else in the car, or in a car near me. My life is my own to risk, but no one else should have to suffer for my willingness to do what i do.
