It depends on what you have and what you have done. Unlike the V8 mustang, the V8 f-bodies had several engine combinations. You could have a 305 4bbl, 305 4bbl HO, 305 CFI, 305 TBI, 305 TPI, 350 TPI, etc... So the general rule is that if a person sees the slowest of them out there running, then they automaticly assume they are all slow. A 305 4bbl (LG4) and the 350 TPI (L98) are apples to oranges.

Also depends on what has been done. There are a plethera of parts out there for these cars, and a whole lot more NOT for these cars, which usually get installed anyway. Mismatched parts can really kill power. For example, my car, the ZZ4 cam I used really isn't for TPI applications, but I used it anyway. I could have been faster w/o effecting drivability w/ a better choice in cam. I also don't have a very adequate stall for my car either. I also have too much gear. TPIs don't generally like 3.73s (IMHO) Once again, poor planning. I could be much faster if I had just thought ahead...

I've seen modded 305's run 13's and modded 350's run 15's, so alot of it has to do w/ how you "modded" it.

Hopping for mid to low 11's in the first car in the sig and HIGH 13s or low 14s in the second car in the sig. Give me about a year and the lt-1 i hope will be running in the mid 12's that is all i want out of that car.

3rd gens are GREAT cars to make fast, they all have great potetial. They are expensive though. Its nice when you dont get much respect out of these cars and you can blow the doors off of almost every car that pulls up next to you (first car in the sig )
But it also sucks hard when your just hanging out in a parking lot and your shoved off because you have a 3rd gen. I HATE THAT. anyways thats my .02

BTW: my experiance with racing mustangs is very broad (spell ?) anyways when i first got my iroc 4 years ago it was stock (350 tpi,K&N, flowmaster) for one year. I did ALOT of racing in that year to. I had about 5-6 friends with 5.0s from 88-93 they had exhaust and free mods done to theres. I NEVER once lost to them i would always have a fender or something on them. We went to the track many time also i always ran between a 9.5-9.8 (1/8 mile) at 73mph mostly. That was a pritty good running car for having 100k on it. 2 of the guys that drove the mustangs are great drivers and always had a great race against them but never lost.
