$650 to spend on a toy... but what?

Ok, well, I'm selling my total POS Neon to my dad for $650. I figure the only proper way to spend this money is on something for my camaro! However, I have no idea what I should get with it, so I am looking to you guys for suggestions. I do want this car to be a performer, but its going to spend its life as a street car (daily driver at that). Any help would be MUCH appreciated:

'89 IROC-Z Conv. 305tpi, automatic: bone stock

Thanks guys,
Damen

Almost forgot to mention: I do plan on swapping to a 350 later on in life, so I'd prefer to stick to things that I can swap over when I do that

thanks again,
Damen

Get a Borla Cat-Back Exhaust, they look and sound rad. I wish i had 650 to spend on an exhaust system...

How about intake runners? are those worth the money? (I was thinking maybe get a set of the SLP intake runners, and a set of SFCs, and call myself good for the moment).

I to wanted to do that, i also wanted to put in a cold air, but people urged me to do exhaust first. You dont want to upgrade the intake first, the exhaust has nowhere to escape.

Yea, but there's not much point in doing ANYTHING if my cars frame twists

so I think the SFCs take priority, which takes me down to like... 350 to spend

is your car in well tune? plugs wires fluids cap rotor oil pcv vacume good fuel pressure engine flugh.. upgrades wont help you much if it doesnt run well, or if somthing fails and you dont have the scratch

if its tuned up then id try to get some cheap sfcs, maybe do some mods like hollow cat if theres no emmissions, if handy maybe port the intake, or get that .5 vette transmission upgrade i read about awhile ago... maybe find a cam and throw it in yourself

Definitely have emissions to worry about I'm afraid

It runs pretty well, but yea, a tuneup never hurts.

I'm a big believer in quality, heh, so I dont think I'll cheap out on the SFCs.. prolly get the kenny browns.

I'd have to know what kind of cam to get to even think about that one. One of the things I know fairly little about. I'm not worrying about installation costs in my 650, cause worst case, I just hang onto the parts and install them later when I have more cash.

SFC's are the best place in the world to start. You should also check and see if your car has a Wonderbar (being an IROC it should).....if not then get one. It will keep your steering box from tearing itself out of the subframe, and tighten the front end up as well. Top-Down Solutions has a NICE one for not-too-much cash.

You could spend the other $300 or so on a cat-back, and get a NICE sound and a little more power out of her....or go for shocks/struts and a STB to tighten up the handling a bit. I wouldn't worry about a cam until you do some intake and possibly head work. You won't see much of a gain from a cam swap if you still have stock heads/induction. A higher-stall torque converter is also something to consider. It'll really wake her up off-the-line.
