ls3 or l99

What besides 26 horsepower is the diffrence between these two engines? and why the need for two? thanks!

LS3 = manual transmission, no Active Fuel Management
L99 = automatic transmission with Active Fuel Management

The more wordy difference is they have different heads and cams. The LS3 has a more aggressive profile but the L99 is set up for the Displacement on Demand. If you plan to mod just be aware that some paths will require you to replace a lot of the L99's parts to get the greatest potential out of it where with the LS3 you can get buy with less.

LS7 is the cool guy engine option for the 2014 Camaro
