This is a good read on K&N Air Filters

Ive been wanting a Cold Air Intake kit however I think for $400 and only get 10-15hp at best I then found this article on the K&N Air filter for 5th Gen Camaro's and for $40 you pickup 8hp!

seems like a marketing piece, especially given the substantial drivetrain losses. I am not really up on the new cars is the "baseline" actually typical or is it like the old Tornado ad with the Impala SS where the guy watches the dyno output and stops the pull 20hp shy of what the car would have made bone stock so he could show a gain wtiht the product he was selling?

Whether to spend the $40 is up to you. But the fact of the matter is, factory intakes are so efficient these days, the HP gains will be minimal. I think JasonD did a test on dyno with the different intakes and couldn't find a worth while gain with anyone of them.
