"equal-length exhaust" = emissions control?
"equal-length exhaust" = emissions control?
The specifications PDF lists "equal-length exhaust" under "emissions controls" for the V6, but not for the V8.
Questions:
1. Are they referring to the primary lengths on the manifolds/headers? If not, what?
2. What qualifies such a thing to be listed under "emissions controls"?
3. Why doesn't the V8 get it too?
Discuss.

I think they mean for the whole system, left versus right. I thought GM usually listed all the exhaust under emissions systems. I also thought the V8 essentially had the same system with just increased diameter.
There is no "y" pipe on this car, surprise!!!!
The V6 an V8 mark the first use of an 'x'-pipe for gm . the zr1 vette has one also. If you look at the exhaust pics, they are true duals for both v6 and v8 with an x in the middle. This changes the sound completely from any rumble to a high pitched whine like the restrictor plate cars in nascar(first used in 1995 by winner Sterling Marlin). Chrysler has these on their base hemi cars and ford has one on the 08 Bullitt, Shelby and GT500(not the KR though)
.
see www.drgas.com for info on why these are so efficient.
