I want to see a ultra high performance option on the Camaro. I'm not sure I would like to see the ultra high price for it.

Regardless of the displacement or horsepower, it won't be enough for a large number of people. There will be plenty of opportunities when the time comes to change that, but for now we can only speculate.

Yeah, the transmission kept giving him problems hanging up between the gears. Thats what was holding the car back a lot.
That Camaro is badass, so's the Goat. But I want that LSX block. Damn, too many projects not enough loot. The heads seem like a killer deal too. GM rules!

Preposterous! The LSX block is a piece of CRAP, why the hell would anybody want something thats clearly based on the yestertech trash employed by both Ford (GT500 motor) and DCX (any hemi) is beyond me. Its clear GM cheaped out and caved into the bean counters. If they had any techincal savy the engine would have been cast out of ultralight unobtanium! Get with program GM and stop using ideas from the Ford and Mopars' playbook

The LSX block is cast iron ain't it? Atleast thats what I read in hot rod, nice block btw

It's clear the post above me was talking about the LSX block...but in general, there are times I am not sure if people are talking about LSx/LS# vs. the LSX...

Yes LSX block is cast iron...nothing wrong with cast iron IMO - up to 2,500hp (for the block at least...) -the block would be the last thing you will have to worry about.

anyways...yea I think everyone on this board would like to see something big go in the 2nd/3rd year model...

15k isn't far off from the ZZ572...in fact, the 620hp version is probably cheaper with 720 not far off (though I understand there would be more costs in lots of other areas)...hmmmm......

ZZ572 in 2011???!!?!?

I still say GM NEEDS to give us performance options like Ford. Look at the Must, you can get aftermarket ex installed, a SC installed, UNDER FACTORY WARRENTY!

Thumbs up

Of course I'd love to see.........and buy, a 427 Camaro! The real question is, will I be able to afford one? If not, I can always get one of those LSX blocks, and build my own. HMMM, I wonder if it was designed to accept the new 3 valve heads? They said it was designed with interchangeability in mind! Just how far did they go with that? Either way, those new L92 heads are a nice deal too, and should make great power, from what I've read in GMHTP.

That's so after a few years they can bring out an SS upgrade to the Z28. Like they did with the 4th gen..

SS has always been the top model.
SS always will be the top model.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

I understand why many are in support of Z28 being the top model...but what reasoning is there to have SS as top model, besides the fact that is just kinda "sounds" familiar since that's how it's been for all models recently? The Camaro shouldn't be in the SS category with every other car - but separate and have its own unique identity. Corvette SS.....no, Camaro SS.....no...looks wrong and the S's **** me off because they remind me of snakes which reminds me of Cobras which reminds me of the Mustang.

I think you took his comment as the price of 40k is too high...when in fact, I believe he is laughing because it is too low...

Gm will not put the price range near 45,000 because that will decrease sales. if your spending any where near 45,000 buy a vette. simple as that.
