Zeta Rear Axle?

Anyone know how big the Zeta rear axle is? I hope it's bigger than the 10-bolt in the 4th gens. I can't find this information anywhere.

The 04-06 GTO used a Dana 44 center section. I think they beefed it up a little from the standard Monaro model. Still isn't as big as I'd like to see though. Anyway, I'm guessing it's the Dana 44

I was just doing some research, and apparently, the GTO/Monaro's rear axle was a Borg-Warner Australia design, called the "M80"

Dana bought Borg-Warner's Australian axle division, so now the axle is considered to be a Dana. It's not a Dana 44.

The M80 is an 8" 8-bolt. It's not particularly strong, and no one makes ring and pinion gears numerically higher than 3.91. I pray to God that this isn't the axle that Zeta uses.

More news - according to Ward's Auto, because Dana went bankrupt, Holden did not use their axles in the new VE Commodore. Instead, they use a ZF axle. I'll try and find out which one it is.

EDIT: The ZF axle is an 8.3". Apparently, there is a ratio limit of 3.70. It's supposed to be durable, but they don't stand up to prolonged abuse.

Isn't that an oxymoron??? "It's durable but it doesn't stand up to prolonged abuse"

I'll clarify.

ZF's products have a reputation for being durable. However, in the VE Commodores, people have already broken the rear axles. It does not appear that the Commodore's ZF axle is as durable as their products in other applications.
