Zeta now good for Camaro?

With the CAFE rules now favouring longer wheel base cars does the extra weight that comes with Zeta's fairly large wheel base now 'even out' with a shorter wheel base/lighter 'Alpha' based Camaro?

So smaller/lighter 'Alpha' with a harder to reach CAFE requirement
or
Larger/heavier 'Zeta' with an easier to reach CAFE requirement.

or am I confused about the CAFE rules

Thoughts?

From what I understand, GM has the lowest CAFE requirement of any mfg due to the "footprint" of their vehicles.... so yeah, unless the Camaro would see a significant fuel mileage increase on an Alpha platform, it's actually good it's on Zeta?
