Yeah, but the XLR doesn't have a more sophisticated chassis than C6.....as would be the case in Zeta vs Sigma.

Re: Zeta Camaro vs Sigma Caddy coupe

It would be in the eye of the beholder I guess.
Id assume that the Z28 vs CTC-V is gunna be close, but for some reason I dont think that the Caddy boys will be letting a little Camaro come too close for half the cost. Id say its gunna be close, but the CTC-V is going to offer more luxury items, while still giving awesome performance. Camaro Z28 on the other hand, will give tight handling, world crushing power, but I dont expect to have a heated and cooled steering wheel.

No, I don't, because I don't think those high end light weight parts will be in enough quantities to offset the added luxury weight.

I mean you're looking at some aluminim A-arms and things like that...maybe 50lbs savings at most combined from all the "goodies" they'll slap on...

I dunno. I'm no expert, but when I stripped down my Camaro I was stunned by how light all the creature comfort stuff was, and a lot of the extras in a Caddie will be controls and electronics that aren't that heavy, vs. how heavy a lot of the powertrain, brake and suspension components, especially some of the unsprung stuff, was. IF weight is a priority to the Cadillac engineers, the extra $$ they have to work with could go a long way.

I don't see weight as EVER being a priority in a Cadillac. Or at least it takes a back seat to at least 3 other higher priorities.

Well if BMW is to be taken seriously it should be. If not Caddy then a high end Camaro with goodies OR a luxury light weight Pontiac Camaro version should be seriously considered. Of course thats just my opinion.
