Which one will be the hot ticket around a road course?

I'll say the Camaro. The Caddy would likely lean more towards the luxury end of the scale, and I think it would therefore weigh more and be less sporty than the Camaro. The handling, while being good, would suffer due to the attention paid to ride quality. The Camaro, on the other hand, would be more tuned for harsher ride quality but better handling.

Re: Zeta Camaro vs Sigma Caddy coupe

That depends on GM and where they go with both Camaro and Sigma Caddy coupe. The Caddy can do battle with BMW with LS2 type motor and be as light as a Camaro or lighter with light high end suspension and Carbon fiber flooring and the like and walk all over the LS2 Camaro. But at the same time a Camaro could have those same advantages under the LS2 Ala High end Z28 1LE and then the tables might be turned or at least be close.

It really depends on which trim level Camaro you are talking about...

Top car vs. Top car(Z/28 ) I think Camaro.

Which is the hot ticket now? GTO or CTSv? How much of an upgrade will Zeta be from the current platform ( I have a comment from Samer ringing in my head) and what improvements is Sigma II bringing to the table? How aggressively will Caddy be willing to tune their suspension for track duty?

Won't the Caddy have an SLA front instead of the strut front?

In that case, all else being equal, I'd say the Caddy, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the Caddy will have a less taught suspension and will be somewhat heavier. The top Camaro model will probably be quicker.

I think CTSv is quite abit faster than GTO. But Zeta won't carry-over any suspension components from GTO.

What about philosophy? Are we comparing a "high value" vs. a "high feature" IRS setup?

Ha! Not sure Art. They both may have a comparable level of sophistication.

Then like Chris said, it's all about the tuning.

Id have to believe the Caddy would be faster. It would most likely have the more expensive lighter better componets. Comparing LS2 type Camaro to LS2 type Caddy. That is of course ignoring the ZL1 LS7 type Camaro because I cant imagine a LS7 type Caddy.

You don't think the Caddy would be heavier with added sounds deadener and loads of hi-tech options and equipment?

a little yeah but dont you think it would be offset by the high end suspension and other higher cost light weight parts. Caddy will have electric seats windows and Mirrors but so will the high end Camaro. Im guessing like most people.

Might be like comparing apples to oranges but the XLR would never be compared to a C6 on a road course....

Good point. And most rags love both of those. Lets hope for the same results with a Camaro/Caddy combo.
