The entire range of the torque gauge doesn't have to be used.

Autoweek is reporting
We know the car will get a 6.0-liter V8 powerplant that makes more than 400 hp and a 3.6-liter V6 that tops 300 hp. A 2.0 liter, 260-hp turbocharged four, similar to what's in the Pontiac Solstice, will also likely be available. Engines will be mated to manual or automatic transmissions.

You're right the entire range doesn't have to be used but it makes no sense to put in a guage of such range that the needle barely moves off the peg either.
IMO best visual impact is to put one in that uses 2/3-3/4 of full scale.
Strangely enough, 0.75 * 370 = 277.5 which is right about what the 3.6L DI V6 puts out. Corroborating evidence methinks
270+ still makes me wanna cry thinking about my old car.

the preferation in the center of the dash, to me would most definately be a center channel in the audio system. THINK 5.1 surround sound. Theres also tweeters on the doors, up near the door defrost vent.. as well as speakers in the bottom of the doors, which means we may actually have 5.1 surround or 7.1.. depending if theres a sub woofer offered on them or not.. with everything going to HD broadcasting, it wouldnt surprise me.
The materials and fit/finish, are hard to tell from photos, but i will say they look leaps and bounds better than the older cars, 4th, 3rd, or otherwise. I'd saythey look similar to the CTS andnew malibu in the terms of quality..
the center stack, while looking unique, looks well thought out, however it may confuse some drivers, but thats to be expected. Not everyone gets technology and not everyone is comfortable with modern electronics,so some folks will have to learn how to use it.
Otherwise, while it resembles the concepts dash, i like the "production" one MUCH better... and i didnt dislike the concepts at all.
As for RS package, I hope that it is a add on package, as im tired of everyone looking down on RS's. They're not the bottom of the barrel, and if the v6 is as good as these guys have been saying, i think it will make us all think differently of v6 cars.. and hopefully change some of that "its the bottom line, slow, cheap, piece of junk camaro that shouldnt have existed" (think iron duke, even though there are lots who loved em too.. )
As for the headlights, LED's are quite possible, as the technology is there now, as for how they look, good job. I like them as well.
The non-scoop look, while not everyone will like it, i kinda do.. may be a nice way to make a sleeper out of a hooked up Z28.. think B4C thirdgen looks.. and performance of course of the z28..
Impressive. I cant wait to see them on the lots, and hopefully one day in my driveway.. of course i do want a droptop still
Good job guys.. good job.

Let me put it this way...most high-end home theater systems have an odd number of speakers, right? Like...5....sometimes more than that...
Many have been saying that for a while, but nothing concrete has come of that. Who knows? Nobody around here.

MONO? Um...not on your life. Chevrolet wants this car to define what 21st century performance is all about and a mono "sound system" isn't part of the plan to do that.
