Hybrids are complex blending of old and new tech, and bound to fail (engineers always say simpler the better, less failing parts). That is the reason I will NEVER own a hybrid.

That said, if they came out with a full electric (not a hybrid) that got atleast 120 miles per charge under 50k, I would jump all over it.

I voted no, for reasons most people have posted by now.

I would not buy a non V8 for the price of a V8 which would probably be heavier in a car where weight was critical. Two systems means more points of failure. I love the V8 sound and right now its that or nothing. Who knows in the future though.

Youd be interested? God bless, would I? I just dont see any benefit at this point in time.

After reading an article about the hybrid Tahoe, its kinda tempting. I like the dual mode (is that it?) tranmission. and the effort to maintain a "mass neutral" tahoe, still not enthralled about that big lump of a battery, but all the same if some miracle work in the battery department could produce some light weight but big enerrgy storage, a hybrid camaro would be a neat thing.

Agreed. Having said that, I choose vehicles primarily on what it will be used for. I have a motorcycle, a 4 cyl. S-10 for work, and a 6 cyl. Monte Carlo. I've pretty much got fuel economy covered. If I were replacing the car.....probably, but I'm not. I'm in the market for a firebreathing 500 HP beast.

I would love to see GM build a hybrid like this:

Hybrid and CVT.

Maybe Cadillac can pull it off?

Possibly Camaro some day? I would be first in line to buy one.

I would gladly buy a Hybrid as long as it had a V8 and 400+ hp while running on gas.
