Who's Holding Out for the BIG Boy?
Who's Holding Out for the BIG Boy?
Since the rumor hit the market that the possibility exists that Chevy will put a 500 HP LS7 in the 5th Gen. Has this caused anyone to think about holding out an extra year or so?
I know that once this car goes into production and we get closer to the launch date that we will start seeing the following years plans on the net in terms of different engine packages and what not. Lets say Chevy is going to release the 500 HP version the year after the initial launch, will people hold out an extra year or is the fantasy of owning the hottest car on the market going to have people buying the first year.
I know I will hold out the extra year or two to get the 500 HP beast!

Re: Who's Holding Out for the BIG Boy?
I am fortunately in the financial position to buy the top of the line Camaro. If the Camaro hadn't come out, I would have bought a new 'Vette. Luckily for me, I will be looking for 2 new cars in the next couple years, so a Challenger and the bad boy Camaro will fill the bill nicely.
Re: Who's Holding Out for the BIG Boy?
Where is the option for 2nd yr LS2? You know, first yr bugs!
400hp is plenty enough for me, if the LS7 packaged Camaro looks better, then I will get that. If it looks the same, then the price, weight and acceleration times is the deciding factor.
The first option ima lookin' fo' is a Navigation System

Re: Who's Holding Out for the BIG Boy?
Im thinking LS2 second year. Less bugs, hopefully dealers wont be asking sticker or more the way mustang dealers are. Some people are lucky enough to afford the LS7 but its not realistic for me. Sales will be comperable to the Shelby and theyll have no problem selling it. Talk about a well priced super car though
Re: Who's Holding Out for the BIG Boy?
I'm really impressed with everyone here, because most people say they will wait. I will not wait. I know about bugs, and enhancements to newer models, but I don't care. I must have the Camaro as soon as it's available. I can't keep driving around in the same old stuff, and look at guys driving their new Camaros while I wait for a 2nd or 3rd year model. I will be one of the first guys in line to place my order for the first available Z/28! I don't have the patience of the majority of people here
Re: Who's Holding Out for the BIG Boy?
Considering it will probably be my first new car purchase (and I'll be making more money) Im planning on waiting for the Z/28.
You know........
The top of the line Camaro........
Yeah that one.......

Re: Who's Holding Out for the BIG Boy?
If they do release an LS7 car, it will likely be very limited production and will hold a pretty hefty price tag. I'd probably opt for the LS2, unless GM decided to produce a large volume of the LS7 cars and the price remains reasonable.
