dont be mad that out of Fords complete lineup, the Mustang is the only one they do correct and dominates vs. its competitor.
It dominates in sales and is inferior in performance. Why would I care about sales? In fact I like owning a car that 10,000 other people in town dont own.

they dominate in VALUE. and if you want a performance mustang, they have those too. they have a formula that WORKS and sustains the vehicle.

I actually dont want any mustang what so ever. Thats why I belong to a Camaro forum. Maybe you should try a web search and find people who care. The Challenger is the only competition I see for the new Camaro.

I assume you're speaking purely from a performance standpoint. And even then, come 2010/11, I wouldn't be so sure.

No not mad its just to damn funny. I had a so called GT mustang and it sucked. So I went back with a Z28 camaro.

Meh... I figure the S-197 is paid for or nearly paid for since its pretty much at the end of the current chassis's run. It wouldn't be all that terribly expensive to update the car and undercut the competition.

Yes it will a nice wake up call, if it actually happens. Because then I'll be able to buy a car that's better than an M3 for 1/2 the money. At least it will be nearly as powerful, lighter, better looking, and with an interior as good as the M3's.

I'm not expecting it, but I'll be happy if it does. Ford needs some love too.

I bought my Premium GT for 29,000 the only thing it was missing were the polished 18' wheels (no nav, bluetooth, shaker 1000, remote start or ipod interface though, I consider every single one of those as worthless POSs and would gut them if they made their way into any of my cars).

So ya, a pretty loaded Prem GT would be around 30k. Stop throwing your grandmother into the package and you won't get around 34k.

P.S. My future vette (looking to by one within 6 months right now) will probably come with all that garbage you mentioned. I'm gonna have to spend a month stripping that mid-life crisis crap out of my track car.

Today's San Jose Mercury has an ad for the Shelby GT at 33995. According to the ad, MSRP is 41255.

I've seen GTs advertised at big discounts too. There are definitely deals to be had in Mustang-land.

Mustang sales were down 40% last month and V8 sales are especially dead. A local Ford dealer is advertising a new 08 Mustang GT that lists for $29395 for $21349.

The current economy is absolutely killing these inefficent v8 muscle cars. It's the only reason I'm considering a corvette right now, I'm finding new ones for 39k. Those are 50k+ cars. Insane. It's a buyer's market for sure.

Still...21,000 for what is essentially my car. I feel sick now.

I'll bet you $50 that the official MSRPs, when announced, are at least $5000 less than what you are predicting here.

Putting a DI 3.6 Caddy motor into the base Camaro has got to raise the price. I would think GM would find a way to pump up the hp in a 3800 and put it in the base Camaro. I get a little over 30mpg in all hiway driving in my Grand Prix. There will be a premium over the Mustang, but not $5000.

Considering I have never been impressed by a Mustang, I don't think 2011 is going to change anything.

A 6 speed, 5.0 Boss with 3.73 gears WILL have impressive numbers, even if it comes in heavy at 3600lbs.
