How much more hp does an AC-delete car have over an ac car?

Forget it.

Not happening.

If you really want it, buy one and pull the condensor and associated hardware yourself.

You're kidding, right? In this day and age that is like requesting power steering/brake deletion as well.

You're entitled.

And Christie Brinkley would be lucky to have you.

None.

At WOT the PCM shuts the A/C system off anyway.

At best you save 20 lbs. or so and will throw about a million codes if you remove it.

Not worth the headache.

AC delete ain't gonna happen, but I would still like to see a 1LE option, with suspension equipment installed on the car with little regard to road comfort.

I would think that kind of a 1LE package is easier to put together.

The trick however is to stop dealers from ordering it for stock just because they see one more performance option to check off - because you don't want to end up with an 84 Z51 Corvette situation, where you have a bunch of folks who didn't really want that hardcore of a racing suspension but ended up with it because the cars were ordered that way without realizing just how stiff it was. And then they hate the car because it beats them up and fizzes their diet coke out of the can over interstate expansion joints.

Perhaps a disclaimer next to it, something to the effect of the "performance tires will have a lifespan substantially less than 20K miles" disclaimer that Mercedes and Lexus use for their sport suspension packages.

BTW, amean94TA, you're quite right, I should drive a Caddy - but the only caddy that is as fast as my Z28 with a removable top is the XLR and I can't quite swing that just yet

F-body 1LE cars have always been quite hard to come by . Many dealers thru the 4th gen era didnt wanna touch that option with a 10 foot pole unless it was a garanteed sale . In 2001 I inquired at my local dealer , Gates Chevy World , a dealer that was a part of making( or discovery of) the original ILE 3rd gens back in 89( I still dont fully get the whole story there , maybe Scott can clarify ...I'll have to dig way to back to the motor trend article about Gates and the Black 89 1LE and dk red 90 1LE ) , anyways .....even they wanted $10,000 down with pre-approved finacing to even order a new 01 SS , m6 , no-t-tops with the 1LE pkg. They wanted no part of that car sitting in there showroom looking for a buyer .

Yeah, I don't think there is going to be a problem with too many 1LEs sitting on the showroom floor unsold. Most dealers don't seem to know what a 1LE is, and the ones that do know better than to stock them. Ill would take a top Camaro (be its z28 or SS) 1LE myself.
