Testing new Z28 running around my area
#16
My wife should be arriving shortly...with my camera! Then I can go check things out..
but who knows where the cars will be. There will probably be 5 or 6 of some models
sitting around, as they have been the last 2 days. It almost seems like there are not
enough drivers for all the cars, but then they each must have a driver. The other
drivers might double up in some cars and that might be why some are parked. As soon
as I get some pictures I will post them - probably in the next few hours or later this
afternoon/evening. I also am waiting to use my wife's car as they know my car by
now...I see them watching me.

if their truly is real ram air then no stang or chally for me..if i can get true ram air on a vert it might be hard for myself not to buy an ss vert...of course it will need to be blue with blk stripes and white gut..no chance i know for white gut but i would settle for blk......wonder what the chances are on a z28 vert?...probably would have sex with that car in my garage and forego the old lady.....

Pics, but no Z28 (yet)
The Z28's must still be out on the road testing. Here are shots of
Soltice GXP's, Cobolt SS, Holden SS (same as the new G8 GXP) and
Holden Clubsport R8, those nice brakes are from the R8. The body
of the Holden SS is the same as the G8 GT except for their different
front and back ends, otherwise it is the G8 GT and the R8 is what the
G8 GXP will be...they sound really nice, but then again 411 hp (R8) is
really nice.

you need a hosting site, such as photobucket.com. then place the image url inside the image tags, you can click on the button that looks like this place the URL inside the tags. or if you use photobucket, you can just copy the IMG code and past here.
If you do not want to do that, you can email me the pics and i'll put them up for you. ChevyCobb@gmail.com

I did talk the the GM testing guy (sitting in one of the Holden SS) and he was really nice,
from Australia, helping to map the software that will be used in the upcoming G8 performance versions...GXP and maybe GT. I thought the GT is about ready for delivery...The GXP version will be the hot one with the LS3 motor and about 411 hp which is the Holden R8. You will notice the Holden SS fenders have the vent that is
identical as the one on the G8, so it really has the same body as the G8 aside from the
front and rear bumbers. The R8 or G8 GXP has the large vents behind the front wheel
arches that won't be on the GXP.

I live high in the Colorado mountains and the GM performance guys have
about 15 cars up here testing them for days. They all park them at
one local motel. The only ones they cover at when they pull in for the
day are the two Z28 cars and they put car covers over them and strap
the covers on them. I walked up to one and lifted the cover to check
the wheels etc. and feel the hood scoop/bulge. The scoop is functional
in the front (ram air) and the back cowl is also open facing the windshield.

They have a couple of what appear to be Malibu (SS?) as it has V8 badging
on them. A couple of Cobolt SS and a slew of Pontiacs, hi-perf G98's (a
coiuple disquixed as Holden (Australia) SS cars, yet interior is all Pontiac
with Pontiac steering wheel - they juxt put Holden badging on them and
there are two fully trimmed out G8's, Also two Holden R8 Clubsport with
right hand drive (LS3, 411 hp!) and those are sweet! Also 4-5 hi-perf
Soltices and Saturn Sky.. They just run these around all day then they
come back in sit in the lot checking all the laptop data in the cars. You
can just walk right up and check them all out. The guys pretty much
just ignore you...maybe I will try and get them to talk a bit...
