Sweet pics from LS1tech member
I guess they got Pirelli to develop those sizes for the P Zero (assuming the rear is 275/40/20), because I don't see either listed anywhere.
Everywhere I look 275/40/20 is listed as sport truck tires because they're so damn big. lol

Big Al was partly right about the trailer hitch.
It's crucial that you put a new vehicle thru every possible test -- and test to failure........
So -- you put a big trailer behind it -- with lots of weight -- to test HVAC and cooling capabilities -- and also to test driveline components -- again, to failure. Once you have failure -- you go back and do root cause --and then make the component(s) more robust.....

Oh kewl its something some of us never think of.
Hope to see ya in July Scott.
those tires are HUGE (tall. i had expected wider). if it runs a T56 with the same gear ratios as the Fbody's, its gonna need better than 3.80 rear end gears stock to just MATCH the older 3.42 ratio.

As Scott and others pointed out, it it to pull a "Road Dyno" as well as other test equipment.
Back in the '80's when I lived in Phoenix I interviewed for a job at the GM desert proving grounds. My job, (if I would have been fortunate enough to get it
), would have been building and maintaining those dyno's. They are trailers that have a dynamic braking system and can carry other test instrumentation as well. For example, since the proving grounds were basically flat, you could dial in dynamic braking from the road dyno to simulate driving up a grade in the desert heat to test cooling system capacity etc. They had other trailers as well. One had large water tanks and high pressure pumps on them. They'd hook up the trailer, attach a tube/bar on stands with a bunch of high pressure nozzles on the hood with hoses back to the trailer. Then they would drive around blasting the windsheild with high pressure spray and look for potential leak problems with windsheld, door, and other seals. That's why you'll see hitches on just about every test mule.
Wonder where I'd be today if I'd have got that job?

I called my friend that lives in Tampa about these pics. He drove around to hotels last night, found one with a brand new Tahoe, Cobalt with camo on the hood, and 3 cars under covers in the back of the parking lot. He went back out there this morning to stake them out...
and he just sent me a pic of the Camaros... yes plural, 2 black ones... obviously he is busy right now, but I'll get more details once the GM guys get tired of talking to him.

Tell your friend to bring a better camara!
It looks like the fender on the car on the right is smashed in??? Or it's a really weird optical illusion.
*Edit, where'd the pic go?

Hey there. I'm the friend from the above post. Just got home... lots of pictures.... AND VIDEO!!! I’m going to edit it not and will post by the end of the day. There are 3 Camaros there. One white one (the automatic) and 2 black ones. I followed them around for almost 2 hours. Nothing like going out cruising with the new Camaro. The car I thought was a cobalt was actually a Holden (Lumina body) with the Camaro drive train under it. There is a bunch of electronics on the hood that they said is used for fine tuning the engine. Mass air flow sensors, pressure sensors for each cylinder and air fuel sensors on each pipe of the exhaust manifold. Also they said that the headlights on the cars are not the production ones and that the car is slated to come with 20" wheels on the V8. No pics of the interior because it is not the finished product.
