Thanks for the nice words guys, I had never done anything like this before so it was one heck of a learning experience. It was one of my usual "I wonder if I can actually make this happen?" situations. Well, with the help of master animator Steven Whitaker, it got done.
I had to rewrite the script a few times. I then had to find someone to animate it since I couldn't use a real car and that took me a at least a couple of years before I found and contacted Steven. We then had to collaborate on what could and could not be done, and do a lot of testing and revisions. Once we got that all worked out, Steven had to animate it from start to finish, and that took quite a bit of time and work on his part. I had to go out and buy the right video editing software, and then had to to find the right music to license and then search around for sound effects to use. After that I had to hire the guy who does the intros to our Podcast to do the voice and then I had to put it all together. One heck of a learning experience just to see if I could actually do it.
I never thought about the Bruckheimer connection but I sure can see it now, and certainly never considered a Geo Storm reference. They haven't made that car in what...10 years?
If you want to download a larger version of the vid, give this a try:

It is a bit clearer and larger than the streaming versions.

Re: A storm is coming...
Nice!
If you want to tinker with it, I'd love to see it as a 30 second spot. For the video, Start it at :11.5, end it at :37.5 (when the approach to the grille is at its closest), then cut to :52, using a hard transition instead of the fade thats in there now, and run to :57. It's technically 31 seconds, but we're limited by the audio track
. Get rid of the stuff blowing across the road (cloud shadows?) and let the lightning direct the viewers eyes to the "storm" on the horizon.
The audio/music track is perfect, no need to change this, run it as is from :11.5 and cut it off at :42.5, but lay the narration (from :52-:57) on top of it from :37.5-:42.5.
If this thing were shot in widescreen, theatrical style, using CGI clouds and lightning and the same thunder effects (the last one before the strike on the grille is perfect b.t.w., just the right effect and volume increase, kudos to the sound guy!), this would be an AWESOME intro commercial, although the menacing nature of it would be more of a guy commercial, and should be placed accordingly. It's not some no brainer "look at my new car" spot, it would almost look like a movie trailer, and with the lack of audio, the approaching storm just kind of draws you in.....until....BAM! You get a bowtie imprinted on your forehead! NICE!
If its not too hard to cut it together this way, I'd LOVE to see it as a real tv sized spot. But Kudos as it is, it's great!
