Q for Scott: GM's release date for official camaro pics / vids / media?
Man, that would mean I'd have to wait 'til December '08 to order. Isn't it like a 3 or 4 month wait when you order something? That would mean people wouldn't get their Camaro 'til March '09 at the earliest. Well, March IS the tail end of 1st Quarter '09. Though I'm hoping it's more toward the BEGINNING of 1st Quarter. lol
I'm hoping they take orders early enough that you can pick up your Camaro within a week or two of their official release (assuming that release is January '09).

I just assume get mine in the spring...the thought of driving my brand new 5th gen home in january on the pristine NY winter roads kind of makes me sick.

The wait is usually 4-8 weeks, but closer to 8 in most cases. Might be a LITTLE longer when placing orders at the very beginning, like I plan on doing, because of the allocations among other things. That time frame can be cut down a bit, but you need to know the sales manager VERY well (trust me, I know it can be done if everyone cooperates).
So, theoretically, assuming orders are taken early enough by the dealer, you can have yours as soon as they hit the lots. I ordered a few GMC Acadia's for customers that actually came in before we got any stock units for the lot.
Hope that makes you feel a little better.

Do we (CamaroZ28.com in general) have a thread started to list dealers that have stated they will not mark the Camaro up over MSRP when it's released? I know Camaro5.com does, but thought it may be a good idea here as well.
Thus far I've only heard back from one local dealer stating they limit pricing on 'hot' cars to MSRP. And while many don't think we should be putting down a deposit, they are accepting $500 (totally refundable) deposits to insure being able to be one of the first to special order your Camaro. They said they had a small list, so I may end up adding my name for only $500.
