Possible sighting on central coast, California

I don't post much here, but have been reading for years (I live mainly on LS1tech)...
So my buddy calls me last evening and swears that he saw a black pre-production 5th gen on highway 101 near san luis obisbo earlier in the day. Naturally no pictures or anything to back it up, but his discription was spot-on. I quizzed him on it a little to make sure he wasn't mistaken for a new challenger, but his answers seemed to point to that he did indeed see the 5th gen (gunmetal rims, reverse mohawk on roof, destinctive hip and body crease, temporary "quad headlights" up front).
I dunno, maybe GM is testing $4 87 octane in CA lol.
Whether or not it's true, it couldn't hurt for everyone in the area to keep an eye out and a camera handy It could be anywhere between San Francisco and LA for all I know.

Cool

my dad and my uncle are both high ranking officials in chevrolet in both the dealer and the preproduction/design aspect and they "can't talk abou t the Camaro" but they did say that general motors is running a set (didn't say how many) of Camaro's around the country to spice things up this year so keep your eyes up because there is one in the central to southern cali area and they will keep turning up. Keep your eyes peeled i will post more when i overhear more!

GM doesn't run mules and expensive prototypes simply to "Spice things up."

If GM is running anything anywhere, there is a practical purpose to it and it's needed.

GM (as well as other car makers) regularly test late developmental vehicles in Southern California, typically leading into or coming out of the hot weather testing season in Arizona and Death Valley. The I-405 corridor, especially between the southern I-5/I-405 split to LAX regularly has prototypes from just about every car maker sold in the US doing real world testing, again usually right around hot weather testing season.

a few weeks ago my wife swore she saw one here in atlanta, but I don't know why they would have been testing here so I passed it off as probably a callenger
unless they were testing traffic, then this is a great place to do that
