That is correct. Regular wheels were never done for either Bumblebee car. Remember, the car was a movie prop.

IIRC, after the cars were returned to GM, Fbodfather priced out wheels for Bumblebee, and they were over 20k.

What's w/ dip**** Steve Saleen bragging about being the one who built that car...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1_8F-FzPVo

P.S. I don't call Saleen a dip**** because he builds turd Fords. I call him that because of the backpeddling excuse ridden crap he came up with after failing miserably when doing a 0-160-0 test against the likes of Lingenfelter and SLK several years ago.

Because he did.

He transformed the GTO to the Bumblebee

Because GM hired him to do the work.

Wow.. the insight to these answers are baffling. It's not like I didn't hear that from the video that I posted.
I was just wondering if anyone had any idea WHY he built it instead of having a GM performance shop build the god damned thing.
Seems every video I've ever seen Saleen in he's always whining about something.

Well after that public display of ignorance by Steve Saleen... I'd think twice about working with him considering he needs to get his head examined. GM had built Camaros from 1967 to 2002 so I doubt there'd be any concern about being able to build one. However, to attempt to start business with someone who could be a new partner and then have comments like these made publicly, which to me seem to disparage GM... Just goes to show how ignorant people can be.

Ok, so he goes to a MUSTANG event, stands in front of a bunch of MUSTANG enthusiasts and you expect him to not make a joke or two about the Camaro?

It sounded to me like he was just taking advantage of the standard Mustang/Camaro rivalry that has gone on since the 60's. But that's just my opinion.
