Patience...you might want to try it.
Well I think that we are all excited about the new Camaro. Since the information is slow coming out of GM on this project I urge patience. I for one sat there for many years just waiting for the Camaro to come back. Lately, the economy is in the dumps, gas is at an all time high, etc. I am urging you to all just have some patience. IT IS COMING BACK. If you are like me I emailed GM (way back) to please bring the car back. I did not go out and buy a Mustang or any other pice of crap at the time. Of course I would liked to see certain things available on the car but from what I have read here, it looks pretty stout. Z-28 or SS I am sure that there will be the option out there for the high HP car. This is not the time to panic. Yeah GM is currently on the ropes, along with the other American manufactures. All I am saying is give the General the chance to provide what we are all looking for. What I am looking for is probably different from the thousand other members on this forum but at least the car is coming back and it looks pretty damn good.
The posts on this website as of late are pretty scary. GM has spent a lot of money and time to get this thing right. I honestly doubt they will scrap the project. Let's see what they come up with here in the next few months.
The end is almost here and I for one am ready to buy. Give them the chance to show the actual product. The anticipation is high, the demand is there. I am hopeful that we will not be disapointed. Make the base car affordable but offer performance options for the guy who is willing to pay.
Have patiences and stop your GD bitchen....

Not sure what you're talking about (only a couple of people who don't know any better started threads worrying about Camaro). It's been made clear the Camaro isn't going anywhere.
The Camaro production line is almost done, the car will be gone over with dealers next week, it will be formally introduced to the general public in less than 2 months. Production is less than 6 months away. It's less than 8 months from showrooms.
Camaro is at the point now where it has to be made. There's contracts involved that will turn into lawsuits if GM backtracks, there's an assembly line that's being installed and stamping machinary that has to be paid for. Not to mention the extra capacity and assembly lines that other suppliers have themselves spent money to set up.
You can't simply pull the plug on a new vehicle that's this close to production. Especially as a cost cutting move. Instead of a revenue producer that's already been set up, you will instead cost yourself up to a billion dollars (and possibly even more) in related costs in killing a car this close to production once the dust settles.
This said, this subject should be dead.

I was ready to buy a car since last year. The G8 and CTS was very tempting but when I seen the Camaro when it was first introduce here in Detroit a few years ago. I made a promise to myself by the time this car comes out I will be the first in line.
I for one will try to be patient. I'm estimating my purchase of a brand new Camaro in Dec. of 09. Coupe that is. Hopefully the coupes attention will be less in demand while the demand for the convertible will skyrocket, during that time I mean. Only for the sake of mark ups im saying. I wish camaro well with success!
I have been waiting for a long time for this car. If GM is smart they will make a Camaro with 3 trim levels. V6 Base v8, and something a la GT500 but with a sticker price much much cheaper than the mustang. For instance if a base v6 mustang is 23,000 a base v6 camaro should be able to beat that price - and with better quality products used to make the vehicle. Otherwise it will be the same as the last few years of the 4th gen camaro with mustangs outselling camaro by far.
I would love to have whatever top of the line high HP camaro they come out with but im not willing to shell out over 35 grand for one. Hell a 30k camaro is gonna put you at a 600/mo car payment.
I sell cars for a living (Dodge, sadly) and the challenger SRT8 came out. We were allotted one for our dealership and it never saw our showroom floor. So rich idiot from Texas paid 10 grand over MSRP to have it shipped to his front door. People who have the money to do that are going to make it impossible for a cheap high HP sports car.
If GM does that with the Camaro and dealers are selling them at outrageous prices over MSRP then the consumer has more money than they have sense. I would never pay more than 1% over invoice on any new car and if I can't get the new camaro for that, I won't. That's ev en letting the dealer keep there holdback (which on average ranges from 500-1000 bucks more they can take off a car that they dont tell you about) I'll wait a year and save 10-20k (depending on the model, and price) and go to the auto dealer auctions and pick up a low mile used one.
