Oshawa Homecoming event........
Oshawa Homecoming event........
Good morning Camaro Comrades and Firebird Friends!
Only 31 days until the Oshawa Assembly plant opens its doors and the Ontario Camaro Nationals Show is underway!
A couple of thoughts and announcements:
First - the one thing that sets this event apart from every other Camaro/Firebird show in the world -- is the Plant Tour.
When we started planning for this event, we wanted to do everything possible to ensure that every Camaro and Firebird Enthusiast would have the opportunity to watch as new Camaros "roar to life." Since then, we've made several changes and I'm pleased to announce that with the cooperation of the Oshawa Assembly Plant, the CAW and GM Canada Retirees, we will now offer a tour that allows you to walk through the assembly floor at your own pace rather than in tour-lead groups of 15-25 people. GM People will be spaced every 25 feet or to safely guide your through the tour route and help answer your questions about the Camaro build process.
Further, we've made provisions for wheelchair access. This ensures that EVERY enthusiast gets to experience the build process and witness many of the operations and procedures that go into building your new Camaro. This now means that the capacity for the tour has increased substantially, and will allow others within the local community as well as the supplier community to see these exciting operations. Therefore, we invite you to consider taking the tour between 9 and 11:30 in the morning as these will be exclusive to Camaro/Firebird owners.
One thing that the Camaro Team learned many years ago (when it comes to Camaro/Firebird Shows) is that it is frustrating to many enthusiasts to be put in a position of having to choose "either activity 'A' or activity 'B'..." - and we just noted that the BBOMG group has inadvertently scheduled a Plant Tour thru Martinrea on Saturday morning. That would mean that enthusiasts travelling long distances would have to choose either the plant tour OR the GM Presentations, the SLP Auction, the Celebrity Pick Awards, etc. Thus, we are working with the management of Martinrea to reschedule that tour to later in the afternoon of Saturday so that no one has to miss an event!
I'll be posting more information in the next couple of days - so be watching!
