If Brembos are standard (or optional) on the 400hp SS, I may have to rethink my buying strategy.

The rear discs look like they are a good deal bigger than the fronts. Its usually the other way around isnt it?

So this is the so-called supercharged car? Since all I am reading lately is how the Z/28 is going to be supercharged?

Since they put a roll cage in it, it's obviously not just there for show.

Nice work GM. Sure the Mustang might be the primary target, but that doesn't mean you had to settle for just better than it......and this sure seems to prove that you're not! GM is OBVIOUSLY not just trying to beat the Mustang, but just plain making the car as good as they can. Ford should be afraid, very afraid.

Afraid of what? As good as the F5 appears to be, its not going to shut down Mustang. It might steal away all the hardcore "numbers and specs are everything" guys, but thats about it. Had Camaro's formula been the definitive model of success, it would have shut Mustang down by about 1968. The truth is, since 1967, the Camaro has consistently been the better performer in handling, braking, and acceleration (only rarely has it been bested in acceleration).

Folks I suspect the Brembo's will be optional if not standard on the SS as they are offering them standard on the Cobalt. Brembo has stepped up their OE brake programs so it is more economical to sell to the MFG' son standard cars. They bought out another OE supplier.

I note there is room for larger brkes yet so bigger rotors may not be suprise on ther Z/28.

On the spoiler. Keep in mind this is a mule with a dented deck lid. Most street spoiler manage air not provide down force. Most BMW' set some impressive times with no rear spoiler.

John Heinressey is lurking here. Once he and his team have tuned this we will not compare this to the Mustang but to the feel and performance of a BMW coupe. The new Camaro has the hardware and ability once tuned by a professional like John to perform on a world class level.

If he can get a stock Cobalt SS to lap at 8:22 and a HHR in the 8:70's just think what 400 pluss HP will do. Iam expecting mid to upper 7 min runs and that will be very impressive.

Not only will we get numbers we will get great feel and ride that no Camaro has had.

Just look at the stock G8 and how well it does and then let one of the worlds best tuners have a hand at it.

Once done the this car will exceed the Mustang in all areas unlke any previous model.

The new Camaro is not a Pony car or Muscle car. It is a world class perfromance car. This time they have the hardware to back it up. They will not just slap some big tires on and big sway bars. In this cars the Designers and engineers got mostly what they wanted vs what they could get.

Afraid of a car that's gonna pimp slap the mustang with one hand and flip off the challenger with the other

I am a HUGE Camaro fan, but these are WISE words. It's GOOD to inject reality now and then.

looks like the same Brembos on my Charger, and if so, I can say they work really well on a 4500lb car. No brake fade, even after repeated high-speed stops. These should be great on the Camaro with its lighter weight

I see the ridiculous, over testosteroned, "we-didn't-learn-our-lesson-with-the-4th-gen-that-extreme-performance-doesn't-mean-everything", study hall dreaming, Camaro cheerleaders are present.

Pimp slap Mustang on one hand and flip off the Challenger with the other?

Pleeez.
