hhahahaha..... even though 40k is not a Lamborghini, I feel for that pricing, the proud owner holds much value in it. HomeDepot has those big drywall push carts and plywood pushers... then again, any shopping cart can run into the side of the vehicle if it's on a slope....

My children have open vehicle doors to hit other's vehicle in the past. Have you not ever open your door and hit something, whether it be it be in the garage or gas station poles etc. It happens.

Die hard will run the 40k loan for the Camaro, despite our opinion that it's over priced. On a different board, someone mentioned Bob Lutz stated about the Premium Pricing to kill off V8 interested owner to reduce the production of that model and push more towards the v6 and inline 4 for sales and future production viability. After all, sales of the Camaro is based on a Fad/Gimmick of "I want." If for $15,000 on the SE Camaro, you will see one pretty much on every street you turn!!!

As you know, all the Camaro will probably look alike other than certain paneling, sidings, and lights, including exhaust.

One more thing man.... I was speaking to a Dominoe Pizza Delivery boy a couple months ago when he stopped off to deliver a pizza in my neighborhood. He mentioned that he just a bought his used GTO a couple months ago and beating his butt off to make the payments. Man, you know the guy had monthly heavy payments on the vehicle since he purchased it for $25,000. I would consider him a die hard! I can only imagine the weekly gas bill he has from delivering pizza in that GTO! hahahah!!

Auto Ignition!!!

Hey Mike!

One thing I like about the G8 is the Fuel Management System like the one that is on the new Camaro.

Also, I like the Standard Automatic Keyless Ignition which I doubt the Camaro will have for the Mustang does not have it.

The hood inlet on the G8 is also fake just like it will be on the new Cam5 hahahah!!!

The camaro will have a keyed ignition. Scott has verified this.

You are right... I stand corrected on the Keyless. I forgot the mentioned of that a couple months ago.

I know this from personally seeing where the Airbox will be based on where it is in the G8. The Inlet on the Camaro is a sense is right where the hood latch will be, thus, it's not functional. Despite the case, even if it was functional, you will not get any more HP unless you are pushing at least 120+ mph on the road to such in that air!

You are better off with a modified custom aftermarket Volant intake if you want that open air. Guess the G8 and new Camaro are similar.

You can put one of those Knight Rider red eye in that inlet!

I think Knight Rider was cut from the NBC lineup?

Here, check this GM upcoming future vehicle, it is a hatchback just like the 4th Fbodies!:

"Upcoming coming future vehicle" or concept?

I say Buick isn't going to build a production gullwing-door coupe any time within the next 10 years.

It's a concept likely to be built really soon and will be offer here and in China. GM China is working on it to bring back the Buick name. Odd as it sound, I have never heard a bad thing about Buick where it has been mentioned that so many would want to own if it was not because of the pricing I believe. Buick sells are strong in China.

Check this out:

Based on the center roof rail, I bet this vehicle can be converted to a T-top! Throw a Wrap around upperdeck spoiler to the back, you now have a modern day Trans Am without any of that Retro Bull going around!!!!

I don't know about the Gull wing, but it doesn't appear to be a large manufacturing expense to have those doors on the vehicle since we are f uturizing production anyways.

GM wouldn't be that stupid with the Camaro would they? It takes away from the F5 look IMO.

Do you have a OEM Factory Ram Air Hood or are familiar with it? The opening of the inlet must do U shape to catch any rain or water before getting to the filter.

Clearance of that hood and engine bay does not have enough clearance for the U. This doesn't mean you can't find an operational aftermarket hood though!!! Just like the Mustang and so many other vehicles, the inlet is for looks!!!! I hate when they do that!!!!!

Absolutely. If it wasn't for where I live, I'd be getting a used Vette and not a G8. Sorry I don't have time to reply to all the flames, yes I know it's a Camaro enthusiest message board, i just don't personally care what is thrown at me by anonymous people on the internet therefor i have and will continue to voice my opinions. And good luck to Scott, even if I can't afford one I'd really hate to see it fail;if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have waited this long.

I have 2 cars with that stupid design so I am familiar with it (1997 SS and 2001 SS). I also have two air induction cars which does not take air through a maze before getting into the engine (1969 Z/28 and 1981 Z/28).

Your point falls short when looking at the 4th gen ram air T/A and the new Z06.

The Camaro inlet is designed a little different on your recent Camaros....The 69 and 81 I'm sure are straight inlet.

The maze is to trap water from wetting the filter as you may know. The hood on the new Camaro where the front Fascia is at does not have enough clearance for such an intake.

We would like to believe it's a useful external appeal, but let's face it, today's manufacture all want that fake useless cost effective appeal. On the flip side, it's good if Chevy does not make functional for they will upcharge you at least $ 2000 ...... By example I'm referring to the regular Trans Am that had the WS6 option for another $5000. Can you believe that... just for the look and the hood, you have to pay that much?

There are better ways to take care of water than making so many turns in the flow of air that the charge provides zero additional benefits. Am I right my fellow 4th SS owners?

I totally agree with you.... the inlet is just a selling gimmick for the past 10 years. After market including OEM has played this out big time.

I believe a better hood that is more useful for performance would be the vented one to permit hot air exit. It's unfortunate that these type of hood has a big flaw in permitting water to reach the engine bay in one way or another.

I was checking on the Magnaflow catback exhaust system for the new G8..... I found out they are price at $1,000... can't imagine what it would cost for the new Camaro. These system are way too tame at stock as we know.
