245/25.4 = 9.645 x .9 = 8.68 + 20 = 28.68" tall tire.

Of course they probably need a 20" rim to accomodate the brakes it will take to stop that 5000lb ugly beast.

The 5th generation Camaro looks more like something Cadillac would design. The new Camaro might be more of a departure from "retro" (original) than the Mustang and Challenger, but both the Mustang and the Challenger are much better looking cars IMHO.

I'm still in a "we'll see" mode, but yeah, I am not thrilled with the (apparent) overall bulk of the car. Looks like it's going to be as unpleasant as our current 06 Mustang to see out of. Which is one of the reasons that car is currently on the "to sell" pile.

Ah well, I may just pick up a Sky redline for daily commuting, given gas prices and all. So GM gets me in either case.

You know, I really like the exterior of this car but man the rear without a spoiler just doesn't look right.

High belt lines are to meet new side impact standards. You will notice that on pretty much ALL 2008+ new cars.

Tow hitch is there for testing purposes. To mount test equipment, and to tow heavy stuff to test the engine, cooling system, air conditioner, transmission, and overall driveability under different loads.

Scott will tell you, they are still in the testing stages and they haven't yet finalized things.

You sure don't want your brand new Camaro to overheat or your transmission to cook when you're driving up a hill on a hot summer day, do you?

Looks pretty bad *** to me. Also, the car looks dang small, be REAL interested to see what it weighs. I am going to guess around 3600 lbs. Totally unscientific guess, but my guess nonetheless.

In contrast... I believe I see at least as much "aesthetic indication" of GOOD NEWS on 2010 Camaro mass, when I notice how narrow this car looks from the front. I believe a lot of folks are going to be pleasantly surprised with the Camaro's weight, since it appears to be significantly narrower than the concept was.

I do believe you've hit the nail on the head. I'm looking forward to see who swallows their words come unvieling.

Though, it WILL be wider than a Vette. I know that much is for certain - but it's still a small carl...I mean, I can't explain it, but it's definitely NOT a heavywieght...any of these recent pics show that much. Which def. lifts my spirits.

I suppose that all depends on what your definition of "small car" is.

If you think cars like the Bentley GT, GTO and GT500 are "small", then you will also consider the Camaro "small".

What new side impact standard requires those? I still see some cars with reasonable beltlines.

I don't like the 350Z either, for the same reason. I think the G35 sedan (and the G8 too for that matter) is just fine.

That does look small. I can't wait to see pics of one sitting next to a Challenger or S197 Mustang.

I think everybody needs to look at the pics again! Those 245/40/20 are the front, 275/40/20 are in rear.
