More reaction for the NY show...

I went on Tuesday...it was great. As has been said a lot...the Camaro is so much nicer when you see it in person (and I liked the pictures to begin with).

All the GM demo people that were there kept on hammering the fact that if you like it, e-mail GM and let them know...the more positive reaction, the better...they are keeping track.

I hung around the display for a while just listening to people's reactions...EVERYONE seemed to REALLY like it. Some good quotes..."I'd trade my mustang for that"..."I'd trade my harley for that"..."Hell yes, I'd buy one". Also, when they opened the hood, peoples faces lit-up.

The whole time I was there, there were many more people around the Camaro than any other display. I was also looking forward to seeing the Challenger...but I now think it's REALLY boring...very bland looking. The demo speech for it was pushing the fact that "it's the only true retro concept at the show"...yippie! No one seemed to care.

Other thoughts...the Sky Redline is a really cool looking car, the new Audi's are butt-ugly, I like the new line of Chevy trucks and it was great to get to sit in a Z06.

That's pretty much it...NOW BUILD IT!

Yeah, every time I heard the presentation (3 times) they were adamant that if you like it, contact Chevy.

I think I only heard 2 comments that would be considered 'negative'. One was from a kid around 12 that said 'it wasn't what I was expecting'. Another was from a couple guys (no idea of age 40's maybe) that commented that the wheels were too big, they didn't like the look of them. That and they would be too heavy. Other than that everyone seemed impressed.

I had the opposite experience with the Challenger. I thought it looked better in person. Nowhere near as good as the Camaro, but better than I originally thought. No more bland than the Mustang. And actually I really like the taillights on the Challenger.

I noticed the crowd around it when I was there was signifigantly smaller than that of the Camaro.

The Chevy trucks are looking really good. I like the Tahoe even more than I do the Escalade now. More clean lines, less 'bling'.

Speaking of Tahoe, I have to admit, although I disliked it when I first saw the photos, after seeing one on the dealer's lot, I'm absolutely in love with it.

I went to the show today (Wed 19th) and I must say the Camaro does look better in person. I really like how the door handle works, wish I could have got a pic when they opened the door but I didn't. Also, anyone notice the cut in the left front tire and the scuffed up rim? Someone having to much fun driving it around? Anyways, I'm ready to buy.
