what was the verdict on the clinic dannoss? went to...
This was a while ago but i'm sure everyone remembers...
May be meaningless now but i was just curious if the concept is anything at all like the clinic car that guy saw a while back. handle was something like DannoSS

I remember Dan talking about it at a gathering back in 2003, and someone else who saw it also said some things about it.
2 big things I remember them both saying was it scored extremely high and looked great, and the other thing they said (using the exact same words) was "..it's a little big to be a Camaro."
Also by descriptions, the clinic car had different sheetmetal.
Danno did a photoshop representation of the car he saw here, so someone should be able to search it and pull it up.

As far as the clinic car, I don't know what became of it. RP acknowledged its existance in one thread (debunking that it was based off the SS-concept) but didn't give specifics as to why it was clinic'd. There was also another thread showing pictures of various stages of concept development that had an orange Z/28 mock-up that was very similar to what I saw.

This one?

Overall it looks pretty similar, same general shape, design...
Although i've never disputed the fact, nor has anyone else from recollection, its obvious to me what you saw at the clinic was a camaro, and its further proof to me at least that its been in the works for quite a long time, its done, and ready to be built! I have the cash, i'll take my ZL1 Z/28 this summer please.

That first one looks like Baretta. The one SS1_gongos has a nice open grill but youre right, the rest is just SS concept.
Thanks for showing us!!!

I missed the rant. What was the issue you had?
Re: what was the verdict on the clinic dannoss? went to...
I'm not completely sure that the gray car that we clinic'd still exists. It was a fiberglass based off CTS architecture.
The rear was more pointed like a CTS.......the grille was more 'pronounced'...meaning that the opening was very small at the outer edges and much higher at the middle of the car. The C-pillar was very much like a second gen.........good looking car, but my first thought was 'it's too big'.......and by the time 5mph bumpers were added, it was huge........thus, a clean sheet of paper..........
I'll have to ask around and see if we can release pictures of it at some point in the future. (I'm sure they'll eventually surface......)

-me too ... syndrome
To many (non-enthusiast) people I polled said it looked like a Mustang. One of the things I really appreciated about gens 2-4 was that their styling was unique enough to not be confused with anything other than its F-body twin.
-C-pillar
This design element just doesn't work for me. Too much 1st gen, too many engineering compromises. Flying pillars like that can't be as strong as more upright designs and T-tops don't work with it either.
-Front end
Once again too much 1st gen and more engineering compromises. I haven't been able to find a drag coefficient for an 05+ Mustang anywhere but the Camaro (without some sort of Cady V treatment of the grille) will have a number very close to it. GTs hit a wall at 130mph, I don't think they can go much higher than 150.
That's about it. If the Mustang hadn't of been out first I probably would not be soo cold toward it. Don't think I'd get one though.

Certain shots of the front fenders I think look BMW. I think putting the swooshes on the car would greatly improve and distance it but thats me.
