Depends on your definition. If it includes "v8" and "affordable," then you may be correct.

How about 4 cylinder turbo powered cars?
Its already happening with the Solstice, Sky, Cobalt, and maybe another vehicle. Just as a Vette owner of the past might have been abit annoyed cheaper Camaros ran similar numbers, a Camaro owner will be annoyed how cheaper and 'inferior' 4 cylinder cars will run similar 1/4 times.

i thought Camaros were pony cars. By definition a muscle car is a mid sized car with a full sized engine

Modern pony cars are pretty much midsized. (Camaro will be just a few inches shorter than a Malibu)
