... I checked out Corvettes at a local dealership this weekend. I really like the Camaro, but the Corvettes were so freaking sweet! Its going to be tough to last a full year (probably longer for me b/c I want the top one).
It sure would be easier to wait if I had some kind of leaked hint as to what to expect at the top end.

If you want a Corvette, get a Corvette.
If you want a Camaro, then get a Camaro.
If you need a back seat, get a Camaro.
If you don't, get a Corvette.
Sorry, but I've never understood anyone anguishing between a 2 passenger low production, moderately expensive sports car and a 4 passenger comparatively high production relatively low priced pony car.

He's anguishing between a 2 passenger low production, moderately expensive sports car and a 4 passenger comparatively low production moderately expensive sports car, both GM. Doesn't seem that crazy to me to cross shop the GT500 competitive level camaro with a regular corvette.
I'm thinking I read here some time ago that a survey of mustang buyers were asked what else they were looking at and the most common cross-shopped car was a freaking grand am.

I'm feeling this as well. I have a wife, 1.5 kids, and a dog. Wife wants me to get something that will allow me to take everyone in the car (minus the dog). But its so tempting to buy a Vette.

id get the vette, faster, handles better and its not ugly as hell like the camaro

I thought a new Corvette was coming soon. Don't know if it's a major overhaul or clean sheet redesign($$).

But a GT500 buyer (like the Cobra buyer before it) is a 100% Mustang and/or Ford guy. I had the demographics on the Cobra, and there is a very clear cut customer base the GT500 has.... and it isn't Corvette's. Basically, it's an older long time Mustang &/or Ford enthusiast the way a Z06 buyer is a longtime Corvette or GM (Chevy in particular) fan.
I guess, if you have a ton of money and can afford to buy a car as if it was a garage toy, and you have 3 or more other cars in the garage, then it might be difficult making the choice between Camaro and Corvette, but speaking just for myself, I simply don't see it.
Personally, between the two, I'd get the Camaro because it's more practical and it fits more in line with what I need/want in a car right now. If I had a good sports sedan and a truck in my garage, and I wanted a new toy, I'd pick the Corvette.
Perhaps I took too many logic pills this morning and I'm looking at this in too much black & white, but to me that's like someone anguishing between an SRT8 Charger and a Viper, or a Mustang GT and a Ford GT.
