we all know that the concept camaro will most likely go into production...and we can assume that it will have a production life of at least 5 to 7 years give or take a few years...... but what will happen after that.? i mean the concept car is for the biggest part a modern version of the 67-69 camaro as far a styling goes... so for the 6th gen do you modernize the concept even further or do you... follow the previous gens and make a way modern version of the 70-73.. i know that the car market would have alot to do with the design of the new car but i just had the thought and wanted to know what you all thought

the design will change or stay the same depending on how well the public reacts to this car when it's offically released. retro will either die or fly.

I hope the production is a big hit and that it will evolve from that. Personally, I don't consider it all that retro, partly, but not all. To me it has a more modern look than the new Mustang, and especially the coming Challenger, although I do sort of like them as well.

Hopefully it will take off well, get a mild reskin after ~4 years, and sometimes around 2010 a crew will start on the 6th gen.

I think we can be sure that it won't be a modern version of a 2nd gen. Auto designers are pretty creative guys, they'll come up something good. Im especially convinced after seeing the new Camaro earlier this year. The blend of Camaro DNA, C6, and Art and Science (all of GM's great designs) really made a stunning car.

I'm wondering more about how the Mustang styling will change. It'd be great for Chevy to be the first to redesign the Camaro before the Mustang though.

Modernize it further. Take the same formula and update it in the way BMW has since the 70's... I think that would be the smartest route.

The 70-73 was already done in 98-02 with 79 thrown in. Unfortunately the way talk has been going here, I think we are in for total reskins rather than updates ever 6 years.

I guess we will see...

As an owner of a 72 Camaro, in no way shape or form do 4th gens compare to my baby. Big mouth grill, ok, but nooooo effing way.
4th gens got away from the long nose, short deck 2+2 seating design that lasted till 92.

And as an owner of a 69, I really like the 5th gen but at least from the pics it looses some of the 69's awe. The wheel well swooshes are gone, the sides are flat. I think GM is just grabbing a handful of styling ques and moving on. You may not agree but I think the tail lights look like a cross between a 68's a 70's and a C4 corvette and have nothing to do with the 69. I suspect that Im going to be a 69 fan, and a 5thgen (if they retain the concepts looks) fan then everything will get ditched in 6 years but Ill be grateful for that run.

I guess liking 2 gens of any car is doing pretty good.

I predict the 6th gen will have heritage cues but not be much like any other generation besides the 5th (at least in layout and mechanically).
