How much are you willing to pay?
True, but if you're in the market for a 500 hp Camaro, you've already accepted the gas and insurance costs. I believe it's a non-issue for that particular buyer.
30-35K Here
Looking for the biggest engine in that price range with not a whole lot of options.
Prefer leather but not required depending on the look of the cloth fabric. Power options will come standard on that trim level I assume.
I don't want a whole lot of bells and whistles.

I'm hoping that the market takes the high Canadian dollar into account when they price it in Canada. Seeing as the Canadian dollar is almost at parity with the American dollar, it's cheaper to buy a car from the US. As per GM Canada, a Corvette Z06 1SB package is 95,605 MSRP before options. The 18" x 9.5" Fr & 19" x 12" Rr Chromed Alum rims are an extra $2500, Radio: AM/FM Stereo w/CD/MP3 Playback/Navigation is an extra $2200 and Interior Custom Colour & Trim Combination is an extra $765.
For the Z06 2LZ package, it starts at $73,485. The Rims are $1495, the radio is $1795 and there isn't even a custom interior option. Total comes to $76,730.
When you compare prices, keeping in mind the Canadian dollar is at 96 cents US, pretty damn close to parity, it would be worth a persons while to import a vehicle from the US if there wasn't so much red tape to cross. When you go straight across, a Corvette Z06 priced at $95,605 before options winds up being around $90,000 when you adjust currencies. Now, do we really think that is worthwhile? And considering the Camaro will be BUILT in Canada, I think General Motors of Canada needs to keep the value of the Canadian dollar in mind. If there are Canadian hands working in Canadian factories, delivering the car to Canadian Dealerships, purchased by Canadian citizens... Something isn't right if it can be bought for thousands less in the United States. I don't mean to sound xenophobic regarding our neighbours to the south, but I'm doing what I can to spell this out logically. Granted the Corvette is built in Kentucky, but if you can get an equivalently optioned vehicle for 20,000 less just by hopping the border, why don't I just take a day-trip into Bellingham and buy my Camaro there? I'm sure it'd be nothing to have Canadian gauge facings from the factory, with km/h as the dominant measure.
I really hope that this comes to the minds of those at GM, when they are setting the price point. I'd pay up to $45,000 CAD for this car but I don't want to kick myself in the backside, knowing I could have saved even $2500 by going to Bellingham across the border.

I'd like a top dog V-8 'vert with all the options, but I don't think that will come in at the $30-35K price range. Rather I believe that car will be priced around where the Shelby GT-500 is. And I'm not prepared to pay $45-50K on a Camaro.
So I'll probably have to "settle" for the one step down V-8 and hopefully that will be in the $30-35K range.

I am hopping for a z/28 with around 500 HP. This will be the only car i will buy new so i am willing to spend 35 to 40 thousand. This is a list of options i would like to see.

I want...
~400 hp V8.
An excellent sounding exhaust
HID Headlights.
LED tailights.
Night Blue Metallic Paint
Contrasting leather interior
An arguably usable trunk.
60/40 folding rear
Lots of head/leg room.
Wheel that tilts and telescopes.
9999 way adjustable seat
Panoramic Sunroof.
Those are the only ones that I think are even asking for anything out of the ordinary. Im going to immediately rip off the wheels and stock sound system anyway.
Id pay in the mid 30s for it...
