How much money should I save up, and when do I need it by?
Re: How much money should I save up, and when do I need it by?
Good Question, Bob says that it will be accessible to millions just like previous Camaros. I would have to estimate that it will priced to compete with Mustang...Base around 21-22k, Upper trim around 26-30k. I think I'm going to open a separate savings account today.

You get GM points for buying things on your GM card which translate to $$$ for a new GM car. You can get up to $3000 in savings.
Look to a late '08 buy for a 2009 model is what I keep hearing.

They keep repeating the value promise, so you have to think you will either get more significant content for the same price, or they will undercut the competition on base price with the same content.
By the time Camaro bows, we'll probably have an updated Mustang, and a new Challenger, as direct historical competitors, as well as a myriad of other RWD "sports car" offerings from various other makes.
I didn't recall this, but read recently that the Challenger was a less expensive car than the Charger. So, the Challenger may realistically be shooting for the Mustang market when it hits the streets in mid-level form, while the top-of-the-line model goes for GTO prices. Plus, Chrysler has been giving folks reverse sticker shock lately.
I think these factors combined dictate a lower MSRP than we actually expect once the Camaro hits the streets. Maybe not for the top-of-line model, whatever designation it gets, but certainly the mid-level and entry level cars.

wasn't hyundai going to be releasing a rwd v8 car somewhat soon to compete in that market?
its getting very crowded, in contrast to the last two years or so.
